Calling a spade a spade,

and “President Bush, […] Vice President Cheney, […] other members of the Bush Administration (past and present), […] a majority of Congress, including Utah’s entire congressional delegation, and […] much of the mainstream media: …pompous, greedy, cruel, and incompetent“. No, this isn’t a member of Code Pink speaking, but the Mayor of Salt Lake City, Rocky Anderson, delivering an address on October 27 against the occupation of Iraq. I did not really expect any elected official to speak so truthfully. He asks for Bush’s and Cheyney’s impeachment and states that he will not support any presidential candidate “who has voted to fund the atrocities in Iraq; who will not commit to remove all US troops, as soon as possible, from Iraq; who has supported legislation that takes us one step closer to attacking Iran; who has not fought to stop the kidnapping, disappearances, and torture being carried on in our name” (that pretty much only leaves Dennis Kucinich, doesn’t it). And he asks all of us, regardless of political affiliation, to stop being silent, complicit and complacent. He asks us to wake up, and to pledge: “We won’t take it any more!”

Great speech. Please read it all.
